That dream became a reality when in 1979 he began to raise the necessary funds to reach the $5 million he needed for the South Pole expedition. It took over 2,000 sponsors to enable Swan to reach his dream.**

Never more so since the corporate expeditions, ‘Inspire Antarctic Expedition’ (IAE) began in 2003 where each year Robert leads a group of up and coming corporate leaders, entrepreneurs in the field of renewable energy, and teachers on a 3-week long journey to Antarctica to learn leadership skills and lessons on sustainability.
